Dr. Elisabeth Kames is an assistant professor of mechanical engineering at Florida Polytechnic University. Prior to this appointment, she was an instructor and doctoral research assistant at Florida Institute of Technology where she taught a variety of courses.
At Florida Institute of Technology, Kames was responsible for overseeing the mechanical engineering department’s senior capstone design program. Her focus included increasing sponsored industrial partnerships to provide students with a substantiated project experience and innovative pedagogical methods.
Kames’ research focuses on the improvement of mechanical engineering design education, including the examination of factors affecting performance and persistence in mechanical engineering design courses.
