Doga Demirel

Associate Professor - 9

Dr. Doga Demirel is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and the Director of Virtual Reality, Interactive Simulation, and Biomedical (VRISB) Lab at Florida Polytechnic University. Since 2021, he has been serving as the Assistant Chair of the Computer Science Department. He joined Florida Poly in 2019 and is an investigator on four active National Institutes of Health grants. Dr. Demirel has received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2018, M.S. in Applied Computing from University of Central Arkansas in 2015, and B.S. in Computer Science from University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2013. Dr. Demirel’s research interests include virtual reality, augmented reality, surgical simulators, and haptics. In 2022, Dr. Demirel has received the Ablaze Excellence in Research award from Florida Polytechnic University.
