Dr. Oguzhan Topsakal is an assistant professor of computer science. While earning his doctoral degree he received conducted research in the field of data integration and worked in National Science Foundation funded SEEK and THALIA projects.
He also held assistant professor positions in the Department of Management Information Systems and Department of Computer Engineering at Uludag University in Turkey in 2015 and 2016.
He was the recipient of two project grants in the field of Augmented Reality from TUBITAK (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey), one project aimed to utilize augmented reality for improving the service and education quality of medical surgeries and the other one aimed to utilize augmented reality to teach foreign language for preschool children.
At Uludag University, he was also the advisor for the Technology Transfer Office for boosting Entrepreneurship in the community. In fall 2016, he was a visiting assistant professor in the Virtual Experiences Research Group Lab at the University of Florida.
In addition to his academic experience, Topsakal has extensive industry experience working in the IT departments of corporations and at fast-paced startups. Throughout his career in the software industry spanning over 10 years, he was involved in developing many software projects and products.
He has entrepreneurship experience as the co-founder of two startups; one was located at the Innovation Hub at the University of Florida (2012) and the other was located at the Ulutek Teknopark at the Uludag University in Turkey (2016).
