The Presidential Ambassadors are a select group of high-achieving students who serve as official representatives of the University and Office of the President. These exceptional student leaders exemplify service, professionalism, and innovation as they help advance the University’s mission at high-profile events and engagements.

The mission of the Presidential Ambassadors is to serve and represent the President and Florida Polytechnic University by promoting the successes and vision of our university with external partners and friends.

What Does a Presidential Ambassador Do?
Presidential Ambassadors act as formal student hosts at key University events, including:
- Convocation and Commencement
- Donor and alumni events
- Presidential receptions and VIP tours
- Groundbreakings and ribbon cuttings
- Meetings with corporate and government partners
- Board of Trustees gatherings
Ambassadors consistently demonstrate professionalism, enthusiasm, and a commitment to excellence. They also participate in intensive training focused on:
- Leadership and professionalism
- Etiquette and event planning
- Public speaking and philanthropy
- Florida Poly history and institutional priorities
Benefits of Being a Presidential Ambassador
Presidential Ambassadors enjoy a unique leadership development experience. Benefits to members include the following:
- $500 stipend per semester (based on meeting program requirements)
- Opportunities to interact with University leadership and stakeholders

Qualifications
In order to be considered for a Presidential Ambassador position, each student must meet and maintain the following qualifications:
- 3.0 GPA or higher, cumulative
- Be enrolled as a full-time student
- Have completed two full semesters of academic work at Florida Poly
- Demonstrate leadership through involvement in campus or community service activities or organizations
- Be able to commit to a minimum of 60 service hours per year
- Be able to attend all required, regular meetings
- Be in good standing, as defined in the University Student Code of Conduct
How to Apply
Presidential Ambassadors serve from April through the end of the following academic year. Applications open each January to be considered for the next academic year.
Applicants must submit:
- Completed application form
- Resume
- Cumulative transcript
- Two letters of reference
- 3-5 minute video that answers all of the following:
- Why you chose to attend Florida Poly
- Why you want to be a Presidential Ambassador
- Describe a specific experience or activity in which you demonstrated leadership skills, dedication to public service and/or good citizenship
The Presidential Ambassadors Selection Committee, which includes representatives from the Offices of the President, Student Affairs and Advancement, review each application, conduct interviews and make recommendations to the president, who makes the final selection of students to serve as Ambassadors for the following academic year.
