Florida Poly’s Phoenix Rising program offers certain prospective freshmen the
incredible opportunity to get a head start on their academic journey at Florida Poly.
A strong mathematical foundation is a necessary component to succeed in any STEM
(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) field. As a 100% stem-focused university,
Florida Poly wants to ensure every student is equipped to excel at the University.
While
most incoming students are admitted without reservation, there are some who may not
have been provided the mathematical background necessary from their high school
setting. The Phoenix Rising program exists to help these students gain the foundation
needed to thrive at Florida Poly.
Many exciting activities are planned as part of the program to help get to know your
classmates, faculty, and staff who are here to ensure you have the tools to be
successful as a phoenix rising and beyond.
How it works
Phoenix Rising participants spend the Summer B term just before their first fall semester
taking mathematics courses and skill-building to prepare them for the fall semester
and beyond. Students who successfully complete the program are granted entry into
the fall class of incoming freshmen.
