Florida Poly’s final Fall 2024 enrollment exceeds recent projections

September 12, 2024

Through a strong final enrollment push during the first weeks of the new academic year, Florida Polytechnic University saw a significant spike in student interest, resulting in record-setting enrollment for the Fall 2024 semester. Classes started on Aug. 20.

The University’s updated fall enrollment number is over 1,770, a 10% increase over last year. At the start of the semester, the increase was projected at 6%.

“Welcoming our new class of outstanding students is truly humbling and demonstrates that they are taking notice of our commitment to excellence and want to be part of that,” said Dr. Devin Stephenson, the University’s president. “As we continue to push the boundaries of innovation and foster growth, we look forward to seeing these students thrive and make meaningful contributions to our community.”

Bryan Brooks, Florida Poly’s vice president of student affairs, enrollment, and strategic communications, said the successful efforts to attract talented students will only grow.

“Thanks to our last-minute push, the excitement around our new president, and the extraordinary opportunities ahead, we saw a significant boost in enrollment over the past few weeks,” Brooks said.

“This momentum is a phenomenal start to Florida Poly’s second decade, and the University has no plans of slowing down.”

A primary goal for Florida Poly in the coming years is to expand the student body to 3,000. To reach this target, the University plans to introduce additional in-demand degree programs, increase resources for faculty research, and further support its rapid campus growth with new, state-of-the-art facilities.

“By continuing to innovate and invest in our programs and facilities, we are not only preparing for growth but also enhancing the overall student experience,” Brooks said. “Our focus is on creating a dynamic learning environment where students are equipped to lead and excel in the ever-evolving high-tech fields.”
