Alumna’s rising EA career inspires podcast for young professionals in STEM

When Natalie Thompson ’19 settles into her cozy home office, she is working on far more than a passion project. The Florida Polytechnic University data analytics graduate is building a growing platform to help young professionals share their journeys and encourage others to pursue their high-tech career goals.

Just three years out of college, one Florida Polytechnic University alum is thriving in an exciting career with international video game powerhouse Electronic Arts (EA).

Dr. Lily Li is a Professor of Physics at Florida Polytechnic University, where she specializes in materials science, analytical imaging, advanced manufacturing, and biomedical devices. Prior to joining Florida Poly in 2025, she spent 11 years at SUNY Potsdam, where she advanced to Full Professor and developed a 3-2 Engineering dual-degree program with Clarkson University. Her work emphasizes experiential learning and research-driven education to prepare students for careers in STEM fields.
