Counseling Services

The university provides free, voluntary, and confidential counseling services for Florida Poly students facing personal issues that interfere with their academic success.

To schedule an appointment:

Counselors can help students work through most personal issues that may affect their success at Florida Poly including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Conflict resolution
  • Managing stress
  • Overcoming procrastination
  • Post-traumatic stress
  • Substance abuse/addictions
  • Time management
  • Social problems/relationships

Evening and Weekend Resources

During evenings and weekends, students are encouraged to reach out the following resources.

Therapy Assisted Online

It may be helpful to think of Therapy Assisted Online (TAO) as an online library of engaging, interactive programs to learn life skills and to help you bounce back from disappointments or stumbling blocks in life. TAO offers the following:

  • Educational Modules: High-quality, entertaining, and interactive learning modules, using evidence-based theories.

  • Assessments: Provide progress and outcome measures, along with screening for behavioral health problems, if desired.

  • Practice Tools & Logs: Tools to reinforce skills learned in the educational modules, including daily logs and journals.

  • Mindfulness Library: Valuable resource to learn and practice mindfulness and meditation. 

TAO provides powerful evidenced-based, learner-focused content that aims to increase positive and adaptive behavior. While using TAO, you will learn: 

  • Personal Skills: For developing personal agency and managing oneself.

  • Cognitive Skills: For analyzing and using information.

  • Interpersonal Skills: For communicating and interacting effectively with others.
