Student Government

Student Government Association (SGA)

Your Voice. Your Leadership. Your Florida Poly.

The Student Government Association (SGA) at Florida Polytechnic University is the official voice of the student body. Established in 2014, SGA serves as a bridge between students and university leadership, ensuring your concerns are heard, your ideas are valued, and your experience as a Florida Poly student is the best it can be.

Whether it’s advocating for student rights, organizing campus-wide events, or allocating funding to student organizations, SGA plays a central role in shaping campus life.

SGA Branches

SGA operates through three distinct branches—Executive, Legislative, and Judicial—modeled after the structure of the U.S. government to ensure balance, accountability, and efficiency.

Led by the Student Body President, the Executive Branch includes the Vice President, Treasurer, Chief of Staff, and the Executive Cabinet. These student leaders serve as the main liaison between the student body and university administration.

The Senate represents students by class year, academic program, and residency (on- or off-campus). Senators propose and vote on legislation, allocate funding, and support student initiatives through their work in committees.

The Supreme Court, made up of a Chief Justice and six Associate Justices, oversees all judicial matters within SGA, including election oversight and hearings involving constitutional violations.

SGA Committees

SGA’s Legislative Branch includes several active committees that help bring your ideas to life and ensure transparency, funding access, and effective communication.

The voice of the students—ACC focuses on listening to student feedback and ensuring it’s heard by the SGA and administration.
