Before You Arrive

Please make sure you have completed the following information before you arrive for orientation.

What to Bring

When you come to orientation, you’ll stay in the Phase 2 Residence Hall and you’ll need to bring a few things to make your experience successful.

  • Comfortable clothing and shoes – Bring comfortable, cool clothes (orientation is casual), as well as a sweater or sweatshirt for air-conditioned meeting rooms.
  • Umbrella – Be prepared for summer rain showers.
  • Sunscreen – It gets pretty hot.
  • Sorry, no pets – No pets, with exception to service animals, are allowed in campus facilities.
  • Linens, including a pillow and twin XL sheets.
  • Toiletries, including a bath towel.

Directions and Parking

Florida Poly is conveniently located right off Interstate 4, and easily accessible from Lakeland. (If you’re coming to Florida Poly by way of the Polk Parkway, you will have pass through an unstaffed toll booth that requires a SunPass.)

Parking for orientation is in Lot 3. You will receive a parking permit to place in your vehicle during your stay. If you’re being dropped off, you’ll want to be dropped off in the same lot, in front of the Phase 2 Residence Hall.

Information for Parents/Families

Parents and family members may not stay in the residence hall with students during orientation; however, there are several hotels nearby.
