Dr. Adrienne Perry brings a lifetime of higher education, public, and community leadership to the Board of Trustees. She is currently an adjunct professor at Stetson University, where she previously served as an associate professor and chair of the teacher education department before retiring as a full-time professor.
Perry was the mayor of Longwood, Florida, from 1988 to 1992 and previously was the statewide coordinator of the College Level Academic Skills Test. She has also served on the Board of Trustees of the Orlando Science Center, the Florida Community College Reading Council, and on the executive boards for the Florida Community Health Purchasing Alliance and Seminole County Mental Health. She dedicated 20 years of her life as the coordinator of reading programs at Seminole Community College.
Perry grew up in Flushing, New York, and went on to earn a bachelor’s in education from SUNY Oswego. She earned a master’s in reading education from Columbia University and a Ph.D. from the University of Florida.
Perry resides in Longwood with her husband, James, who served seven years as a Florida Supreme Court Justice before retiring in 2016.
