With case numbers remaining extremely low for months, the University decided to sunset the COVID-19 dashboard as the spring 2022 semester came to an end. The last update to the dashboard was May 6, 2022.
There may have been instances in which positive cases were not self-reported by the sick individual. Because these cases remained unknown to the University, they could not be reflected in the posted information.
Those who tested positive were instructed to isolate in accordance with guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Student, employee, and patient confidentiality laws prohibited disclosure of the identities of individuals with COVID-19. The Florida Department of Health (FDOH) was the statutorily designated entity to conduct contact tracing for positive cases of COVID-19, including informing individuals with exposure per FDOH guidelines.
Those who tested positive for COVID-19; were awaiting the result of a COVID-19 test; or were exposed to someone who was COVID-19 positive, were asked to immediately fill out the COVID-19 notification form.
