Candis Tate joined Florida Poly in May 2019 as the technology services project manager and assumed the interim chief information officer responsibilities in April 2020. Before coming to Florida Poly, she spent eight years with IT Consulting firm, Capgemini.
Tate brings together experience from multiple industries across the United States and with companies such as Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, Southern California Gas Company, Genentech, and Cox Communications. As an established manager for the High Technology and Digital Operations divisions, she built and led the Crisis Response Data Management team at SoCalGas through the Aliso Canyon Gas Leak crisis, established the Work Intake Team for Parks, Systems and Engineering at Disney, and completed many other high visibility roles and projects.
Trained in PMP and PMI-ACP centered project management methodologies,Tate has led projects and project teams from ideation through support handoff. She also holds a certification in Organizational Change Management (OCM) from Prosci and completed her certification courses for Lean Yellow Belt and Six Sigma Green Belt from Florida Poly. Tate has an educational background in computer science with a focus in human-computer interaction. Her unique combination of technological skills and functional knowledge, which coupled with training experience and client and account level relationship management, offers a unique perspective on the user experience.
