As an assistant general counsel, David J. Brunell, has worked in the Office of the General Counsel since 2018 serving primarily in the areas of procurement, auxiliary enterprises, sponsored research, intellectual property (patents and trademarks), facilities and environmental health and safety, government relations, and on matters for the Florida Polytechnic University Foundation, Inc.
Brunell served as the senior staff attorney to Judge Marva L. Crenshaw at Florida’s Second District Court of Appeal and thereafter as a contract analyst at Purdue University. He then served as the inaugural coordinator of the University of Central Florida’s contract management system. In that role, he served as the users’ primary point of contact and with the IT teams responsible for the system; he was also the primary trainer of the new system. Brunell is admitted to practice law in Florida and Indiana (inactive).
Brunell is an active member of the Florida Bar’s Animal Law Section and helped grow the section from a committee.
