John C. White, AIA has worked on the development and construction of the Florida Polytechnic
University campus since November 2012. He brings more than 30 years of experience
as an architect in the public and private sectors to his role at Florida Poly and
has been the University Architect since its inception in 2007. White worked as USF
architect and project manager for more than a decade prior to joining Florida Poly.
In the private sector, White worked for 22 years at Renfroe and White Architects PA,
where he was president until 2001. His skills and expertise include urban planning,
historic preservation, facility master planning, landscape and site development, and
construction management.
White received his master’s degree in architecture and city planning from Georgia
Institute of Technology. He is a member of the City of Lakeland Historic Preservation
Board. He serves on the Board of Historic Lakeland and the Board of Camp Wingmann.
White’s personal interests include historic preservation, sports and photography.
He has resided in Lakeland for more than 60 years.
