Dr. Sanna F. Siddiqui is an assistant professor of mechanical engineering at Florida Polytechnic University. She has led the development of the aerospace concentration, enhanced the materials and advanced manufacturing concentration with the development of new courses in fatigue and failure analysis in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and has been instrumental in the initiation of the (4 + 1) master’s degree Program at Florida Polytechnic University. Siddiqui further established the Order of the Engineer Link Chapter at Florida Poly, and actively leads Order of the Engineer ceremonies.

Siddiqui’s research expertise is in the mechanical and material characterization of additively manufactured materials for use in aircraft structural and engine components. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed journal and conference publications. Her research has been supported by the National Science Foundation Grant and the U.S. Department of the AirForce. Siddiqui has received the 2020 American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Young Engineer Turbo Expo Participation Award, Florida Poly’s Ablaze 2021 Excellence in Research Award, and the University of Central Florida’s College of Engineering and Computer Science 2023 Ad Astra Young Alumni Award.

Siddiqui is very interested in promoting women and minorities in engineering disciplines and was the recipient of Florida Poly's Women in STEM 2023 Academic Award. She was an invited speaker at the 2023 International Day of Women and Girls in Science Day at Florida Poly and is a former recipient of the 2016 Athena International Emerging Women Leader Fellowship and the 2015 Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellowship, which is awarded to only 35 fellows internationally each year.

During her time as a student at the University of Central Florida, she held positions at Lockheed Martin Corporation and was the recipient of several honors and awards, including Order of the Engineer, President’s Honor Roll, Who’s Who Among Students at the University of Central Florida, and the Prestigious National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.

Siddiqui’s doctoral dissertation work, entitled “Characterization of Anisotropic Mechanical Performance of As-Built Additively Manufactured Metals,” has received much recognition, including nomination for the 2019 Outstanding Dissertation Award at the University of Central Florida, first and second place distinction in engineering at the 2017 UCF Graduate Research Forum, and Florida Statewide Graduate Research Symposium respectively, including honorable mention for best student-authored paper in the materials division at the 2017 ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE), and honorable mention distinction from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine for the 2017 Ford Foundation Dissertation Fellowship Program.
