As the Assistant Director of Finance & Accounting, Jill Carlton assists with the planning, organization, management and control of fiscal activities of the University. She works closely with staff to collect information and verify transactions for financial reporting, which includes, but is not limited to: general accounting, disbursements and student financial services. She assists with the preparation and review of interim and annual audited financial statements and other required federal and state financial reports. Previously, she served as Florida Poly’s first Bursar, creating procedures and launching operations in the Cashier’s Office, where her duties included the receipt, disbursement and recording of all tuition fee payments, cash receipts and scholarship funds.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Public and Cultural Communications from the University of South Florida. She has two master’s degrees – in Management from Argosy University and in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Everest University.
Prior to joining Florida Polytechnic University, she worked as the Accounting Supervisor at the Art Institute of Tampa and Supervisor of Student Finance Support Operations at Socle Education.
Originally from Fort Myers, she describes herself as, “a proud soccer mom and an avid football fan.”
