Kathy Mizereck of Tallahassee, Florida is Assistant Vice President for Government Relations at Florida Polytechnic University. Mizereck has spent over 40 years in the field of education, starting as a high school English and reading teacher in Pinellas County. She served as education cabinet aide to Florida’s Secretary of State, executive director of the Florida Commission on Education Reform and Accountability, and legislative affairs director for the Florida Department of Education.
Mizereck served for eight years as education policy staff in the Florida House of Representatives. Committee responsibilities included both education appropriations and education policy.
Mizereck received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Secondary Education from the University of Florida, and Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
