Melia Rodriguez hails from Broward County, Florida and is a senior at Florida Polytechnic University studying computer science with a concentration in software engineering.
Rodriguez is currently serving her second term as student body president and University Board trustee. Additionally, she serves as the internal vice chair of the Florida Student Association. She previously served as the University’s SGA senate president.
Prior to enrolling at Florida Poly, Rodriguez served on Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s student roundtable for change in high school and volunteered her time as an art teacher for children in her hometown as part of a city-wide initiative.
This past summer Rodriguez completed a technology internship at CoStar Group in Richmond, Virginia and will return there to work full time following her graduation. Her career goals include obtaining her master’s degree in business management and working in technology business management and consulting. She is dedicated to being the voice of the students and advocating for their well-being and success, not just at Florida Poly but at all of the universities in the state of Florida.
