Stephanie Madden has been a small business owner for over 25 years. She is also a community volunteer and Lakeland City Commissioner. At Madden, a promotional marketing company, she is the VP of People and Culture and she serves as Treasurer of the Promotional Products of Florida board.
Stephanie has been a champion of women in leadership; as a business owner, past president and member of the Junior League of Greater Lakeland, and D.A.R. member. She advocates on behalf of faith-based and non-profit organizations, serving on boards and volunteering for United Way, Lighthouse Ministries, Dream Center, VISTE, and numerous other youth organizations as a parent of six children.
As a city commissioner, she is the liaison for Lakeland Electric. She is on the executive committee for the American Public Power Association’s Policy Maker’s Council, and has participated in LEHI, the preeminent legislative energy policy institute for legislators and policymakers in North America. She has also served on the Community Redevelopment Agency advisory board, the Gang Taskforce, and is the current Municipal Boards and Committees Chair and Broadband Chair. She serves on Polk Vision’s SMART communities lead team, the Tourism Development Council, Lakeland’s Sister Cities, the Lakeland Youth Council, and the Polk Academies Advisory Board.
Stephanie is passionate about her city. Her priorities are a vibrant quality of life, downtown economic development that retains Lakeland’s historic charm, and targeted industry growth with a focus on innovation. She is the current Chair of the Board for Catapult, Lakeland’s entrepreneur incubator. She loves her family and recently published a book sharing some of her favorite family stories, Amelia Margaret Merriweather, Let Me Introduce Myself. She is also an oil painter and art enthusiast.
