Dr. Sanjeeta N. Ghimire joined Florida Polytechnic University as an assistant professor
of civil engineering in August 2024. Before joining Florida Poly, she worked at Western
Illinois University (WIU) for three years as an assistant professor of civil engineering.
Ghimire’s expertise spans critical areas such as dam and spillway safety, hydrology,
water resources, machine learning, climate change and sustainability. She likes to
spend time reading, researching, and addressing complex challenges in the field of
her expertise. She enjoys teaching and prioritizes student-involved research. In her
personal time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family.
