Donor Challenges Florida Polytechnic University Supporters with $1 Million Match

Jul 16, 2015

The Florida Polytechnic University Foundation has received a $1 million challenge match contribution from an anonymous donor. The contribution will support student scholarships and the University’s mission.

Through the (BePivotal)2 challenge, the anonymous donor is encouraging Florida Poly supporters to contribute to the University Foundation by leveraging this opportunity to effectively double their donations. The donor will match up to $1 million raised by the Foundation.

“We’re thrilled to receive such generous support to benefit our students as they prepare to become high-tech leaders in Florida and beyond,” said Florida Poly President Dr. Randy K. Avent. “Thanks to the (BePivotal)2 match, donors have the opportunity to double their contributions to Florida Poly and double the impact on students. I hope this challenge inspires both previous and new supporters to help us reach the full match potential.”

All monies raised from (BePivotal)2 challenge will support Florida Poly’s robust student scholarship program and will help further the University’s educational purpose of preparing 21st century learners in the advanced fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

“Ensuring access to scholarships allows us to attract and retain diverse and talented students,” said Scott Rhodes, Vice Provost of Enrollment Services at Florida Poly. “I’m grateful to our donors who allow us to offer students pathways to innovative education and successful careers. The (BePivotal)2 challenge is a great way to kick off our second academic year.”
