Students can find a break from classes and studying this week with multiple Halloween-themed events that will provide a fun and friendly atmosphere on campus.
“We believe that by establishing a fun atmosphere we are preparing each student to be successful in their career choice as well as their personal lives,” said Jimmy Surin, student development assistant director at Florida Polytechnic University.
Students can dress up, connect with others, and have fun at these events:
- Tuesday, Oct. 29: –Pumpkin painting. This event will take place in the Phase 2 Residence Hall commons from 7-9 p.m.
Students can get creative and celebrate the season by decorating pumpkins together. Pumpkins will be provided by a local farm.
- Wednesday, Oct. 30: Intramural basketball championship. This will be at the Student Development Center (SDC) basketball courts from 7-9 p.m.
Students can wear costumes and join in on the fun competition.
- Wednesday, Oct. 30: Halloween hoedown. This will be at field 1 between parking lots 1 & 3 from 7-10 p.m.
Enjoy a costume contest, games, and music.
- Thursday, Oct. 31: Reverse trick or treat. This will be in the residence halls from 3-5 p.m.
Resident assistants will be stopping by each room to subvert holiday tradition and instead give candy to residents to help them feel welcomed and appreciated.
- Friday, Nov. 1: Haunted dodgeball. This will at the SDC basketball courts from 7-10 p.m.
Students can dress up and compete in this fun event.
