LAKELAND, Fla. – Florida Polytechnic University’s Board of Trustees Monday authorized a selection committee to negotiate for the development of on-campus student housing. The proposed project will provide a residence hall, or halls, with approximately 200 beds by August 2014 when the university’s inaugural class begins.
The selection committee issued a public request for statements of qualifications in September and received responses from seven vendors. They have shortlisted three following a formal evaluation process.
The committee has been authorized to negotiate with first-choice vendor Vestcor Companies, Inc. and to negotiate with second-choice vendor University Housing Services in the event an agreement cannot be reached with their first-choice vendor.
