Maggie Mariucci was born and raised in Lakeland. She is a fifth-generation Polk County resident who brings an extensive knowledge of the area, including its history, people and culture, to her roles at the University. She previously was assistant director of development at the former USF Lakeland where she served in several capacities, including in Development and Government Affairs, from 2007-2012. She also worked on the Florida Senate campaign of Sen. Denise Grimsley. Well-known for her civic leadership and development, Mariucci has held previous administrative posts at the Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce and the Polk Museum of Art. She started her career in community relations at the Peace River Center in Lakeland. Mariucci has a bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications.
