Florida Polytechnic University is expanding its campus with the construction of the Gary C. Wendt Engineering Building, a state-of-the-art, 40,000-square-foot academic facility aimed at advancing the University’s growing engineering programs. This $15-million, two-story building will include cutting-edge research and development labs, faculty and staff offices, collaborative workspaces, and a conference room. A modern exterior courtyard will also connect the new building to the neighboring Barnett Applied Research Center, offering additional recreational and social areas for students.
Strategically located on the northwest side of campus between the BARC and the IFF Global Citrus Innovation Center, the Wendt Engineering Building will be Florida Poly’s third academic facility and a significant addition to its rapidly growing infrastructure. The building is named in honor of former University Trustee Gary C. Wendt, whose longstanding support and $2 million philanthropic contribution have helped further student leadership initiatives and academic innovation. Construction is expected to be completed by summer 2025, with Charles Perry Partners, Inc. (CPPI) leading the design-build and construction management alongside key project partners - DLR Group, BBM Structural, and TLC Engineering.
