Benefits to being a Presidential Ambassador
Presidential Ambassadors enjoy a unique leadership development experience. Benefits
to members include the following:
- Compensation. Participation should be viewed as an honor, but as this position is
first and foremost a job, Presidential Ambassadors will be paid a stipend of $500
per semester as long as all requirements are met
- Opportunities to interact with the president and other university administrators
- Opportunities to network with influential business and community leaders and dignitaries
- Specialized training in professionalism, etiquette, leadership, philanthropy, public
speaking and event planning
- Official Florida Poly Presidential Ambassador attire for personal use when representing
the university
- Travel opportunities with university staff, in support of university events off campus
- Presidential Ambassador Appreciation Dinner, annually in April
- Presidential Ambassador medallion to be worn at Commencement
Qualifications
In order to be considered for a Presidential Ambassador position, each student must
meet and maintain the following qualifications:
- 3.0 GPA or higher, cumulative
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student
- Must have completed two full semesters of academic work at Florida Poly
- Must have demonstrated leadership through involvement in campus or community service
activities or organizations
- Must be able to commit to a minimum of 60 service hours per year
- Must be able to attend all required, regular meetings
- Be in good standing, as defined in the University
- Student Code of Conduct, which is published in the Student Handbook
