Finance and Accounting maintains and supports the University’s fiscal responsibilities
through accurate accounting and financial compliance. The office provides oversight,
assistance, and training in financial stewardship.
Finance and Accounting is responsible for maintaining the integrity of Florida Poly’s
accounting records and reporting system and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of
departmental and financial aid activities.
This includes but is not limited to:
- Review of General Ledger (GL) activities
- Maintaining the Chart of Accounts
- Posting journal entries in Workday
- Assisting with the preparation of internal and external reports
- IPEDS, Board of Trustees, Board of Governors, Auditor General
- Investment management
- Current business needs and historical cash flows are analyzed daily to maintain cash
reserves at a minimum and maximize investment returns
- Bank administration
- Request and disbursement of University revenue
- Bank statement and financial aid funds reconciliations
