Surplus Property

 

Florida Poly property that has been deemed to be surplus due to it being excess, obsolete, uneconomical or inefficient for continued use shall be certified as surplus by contacting the Department of Procurement.

There are various methods which surplus is disposed of.

  • Re-use by other Florida Poly departments if equipment is still functional
  • Public online auctions
  • Donation to nonprofit organizations or other state agencies
  • Recycling for electronic /metal scrap
  • Trashed

 

Submitting Items for Surplus

University employees should contact the Department of Procurement  when assets and other Florida Poly property are no longer needed. Procurement approves and coordinates the physical collection and final disposition of all excess property. The below form must be completed and emailed to Michael Gavin at procurement@floridapoly.edu to initiate the process:

Florida Poly uses GovDeals to sell many items like electronics (desktop and laptop computers, monitors, projectors, etc.) furniture, scientific equipment.
