University employees should contact the Department of Procurement when assets and other Florida Poly owned property are no longer needed/wanted. Procurement will approve and coordinate the physical collection and final disposition of all university owned property. The below form must be completed and emailed to Michael Gavin at procurement@floridapoly.edu to initiate the process:
Florida Poly property that has been deemed to be surplus due to it being excess, obsolete, uneconomical or inefficient for continued use shall be certified as surplus by the Department of Procurement.
There are various methods which surplus is disposed of.
Public online auctions
Public sealed bid procedure
Transfer to another University Department
Donation to nonprofit organizations or other state agencies
Waste or Recycle
Florida Poly uses GovDeals to sell many items like electronics (desktop and laptop computers, monitors, projectors, etc.) furniture, scientific equipment.
