A Designated School Official (DSO) helps international students avoid problems by advising them on how to follow required processes, such as:
There are other campus offices that work together to support international students during their study at Florida Poly. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the student success resources available to them.
The following forms should be used by international students. If you require one of these forms email International Student Services. We will be adding the PDF forms to our website soon.

The Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) defines Curricular Practical Training (CPT) as an alternative study, internship, cooperative education, or other type of required internship or practicum that is offered by a sponsoring employer through a US college or university.
CPT is only available for current F-1 students when it is part of an established curriculum within a school. CPT must be integral to your major program of study. It cannot be authorized for work related to a minor, concentration, or previous major. Any internship, whether it is paid or unpaid, requires CPT authorization.
If authorized, CPT authorization is for specific dates, a specific employer, and specific location. Any practical training or employment that begins prior to the authorized start date or occurs after the authorized end date is considered unauthorized employment and will result in the loss of your legal status inside the US.
The college years are a time for change, exploration, and growth. The health and wellness team strives to support students as they learn to cope with the stresses of college and prepare to thrive after graduation.
Joining in campus activities is a great way to build ties to the University, learn teamwork and leadership skills while meeting new people who can become friends for a lifetime. Take advantage of the various clubs and organizations on campus, get involved with the Student Government Association, and stay active with our recreation resources.
Success at Florida Poly means more than studying hard and doing well in class. Career Development is here to help students prepare to be successful beyond the classroom and to support your career development through workshops, internships and individual career planning sessions with a career coach.
