Welcome to the Phoenix family! We’re excited that you have chosen Florida Poly as your home for the next four years.

Spring 2025 New Student Orientation (NSO) will be on Saturday, January 4th from 10 a.m - 4 p.m.

 

We’re ready to welcome you to campus and the Florida Poly New Student Orientation is the first step in your transition to becoming a Phoenix. New Student Orientation is Florida Poly’s way to help you start strong and ensure a connection with and understanding of the Florida Poly experience.

Spring 2025 New Student Orientation will take place on Saturday, January 4th from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. for all new Phoenix students. 

What You Need to Know:
- Please report the Innovation, Science, Technology (IST) building at 10 a.m. for check-in.
-  Expect a full day of informational sessions, teambuilding activities, and meeting with faculty, staff, and peers.
- Lunch will be provided (If you have a food allergy, it is suggested that you bring your own lunch.)

As your student begins to make their transition to Florida Poly, we know that this will be a period of transition for you as well.

At Florida Poly, we consider parents and families to be partners in ensuring their student’s success. As partners, we look forward to working together with you to help you learn more about Florida Poly and getting you involved.

Fall 2025 New Student Orientation Dates are expected to released in Spring 2025. 

Be sure to plan ahead to spend the Family Day on campus with your Phoenix.

Before You Come to Campus

Please make sure you have completed the following information before you arrive for orientation.

Work with your admissions counselor to complete your required enrollment steps. 

Learn more about the housing next steps if you have not yet secured your on campus housing.

Submit a selfie for your student ID.

Activate your Florida Poly account (using the link provided in the “Welcome to Florida Poly” email you received).

Didn’t get the email, or deleted it by mistake? Request a copy of the email.

Make sure you know your university email address and password. If you are having trouble accessing your university email, contact your admissions counselor.

Required Online Trainings

This online course is partnered with HazingPrevention.org to provide evidence-based, best practices that teach you how to recognize, prevent and report hazing. Click here for more information.

All new Florida Poly students are required to complete a Hazing Prevention course prior to the start of classes each August. The online course, which takes about 45 minutes to complete, includes information on how to recognize, prevent, and report hazing. Students should log into the course using their university username and password. The course is required by state law and University Policy 3.0062P: Anti Hazing Policy.

This online course provides training on a variety of topics.  This training includes topics on Alcohol, Other Drugs, Consent and Sexual Violence. We want each student to have the knowledge and skills to be a safe, understanding and enjoy an inclusive community. It is our goal to provide information that helps to create a safe living, learning, and working environment.

The training will be sent in August 2023 with a personalized link sent directly to your Florida Poly student email address You must use your Florida Poly student email and the direct link as each link is set to each individual. The training modules are self-paced and will take around 40-45 minutes to complete.

Handshake is a great tool that allows for you to connect with employers, peers at other universities, and schedule appointments with the Career Office. A number of students have been able to get amazing internships and full-time jobs on this great platform.

It is required that all Florida Poly students have a Handshake account. Make your Handshake profile today!
